Statement
of Faith
As a company, Knight’s Publishing House believes and stands on the Holy Bible as the Word of God given to man. God’s Word is central to all of life. The Word of God is the foundation for which our writers create and stand upon as our Statement of Faith as Christians.
God
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. –John 1:1-5
1) We believe in one God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the Creator and sustainer of all things, holy, perfect and eternally co-existing in three equally divine Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. God eternally was, is, and will be God.
And he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God. –Exodus 3:6
The Holy Bible
The grass withers, the flowers fades,
But the word of our God will stand forever. –Isaiah 40:8
2) We believe in the absolute authority of God’s Word. That the Holy Bible, both the Old Testament and New Testament, are God’s Word given through human authors to all of humanity. As the Word of God, the Holy Bible is without error in the original writing, and the perfect revelation of His will for mankind’s salvation. It is the ultimate authority of which all aspects of
humanity can receive God’s knowledge and will be judged in accordance to. We believe in all that it teaches, that we’re to obey God’s Word, and whole-heartedly trust in the Holy Bible’s authority and promises.
The Human Condition
Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, “You shall not eat of any tree in the garden?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, but God said, “You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.” But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths. –Genesis 3:1-7
3) We believe that Adam and Eve were made by God, in the image of God. Adam and Eve’s rebellion in the Garden of Eden brought sin and death into the world. All humanity inherited Adam’s sinful nature and by choice became alienated from God, and thus are under His wrath. It is only through God’s Grace and salvation in Jesus Christ that we can be saved, redeemed and made new.
Jesus Christ
And Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in me, believes not in me but in him who sent me. And whoever sees me sees him who sent me. I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness. –John 12:44-46
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John bore witness about him, and cried out, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me ranks before me, because he was before me.’” For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. –John 1:14-17
4) We believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, fully God and fully man. Jesus Christ was and is Israel’s promised Messiah, conceived through the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus Christ lived a perfect, sinless life and was crucified on the cross for our sins, resurrected from the dead, ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God as our High Priest and Advocate. Jesus Christ is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and The End, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. –John 3:16-17
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. –Hebrews 13:8
The Work of Christ
Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit! And having said this he breathed his last. Now when the centurion saw what had taken place, he praised God, saying, “Certainly this man was innocent!” –Luke 23:46-47
And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. –Luke 24:2
And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.” –Luke 24:5-7
5) We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins, rose again on the third day and ascended into heaven as the perfect atoning sacrifice for our sin. For Jesus Christ lived a sinless life and it is only through His atoning sacrifice and victory on the cross through his resurrection that we are saved.
In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence. Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered. And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him, being designated by God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek. –Hebrew 5:7-10
How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God. Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promise of eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant. –Hebrews 9:14-15
The Holy Spirit
“If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.” –John 14:15-17
“Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.” –John 16:7-11
6) We believe that the Holy Spirit, glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ in everything that He does. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of its guilt; regenerates sinners, baptizes into union with Jesus Christ and renews Christians as heirs in the family of God. He also is within those who believe
and follow Jesus Christ, guiding, teaching and empowering believes for Christ-like living and service to honor and glorify Jesus Christ.
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” –John 14:26-27
“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.” –John 16:13-14
Company Purpose
Do we then overthrow the law by faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law.
–Romans 3:31
7) Our purpose as a company is to create safe children’s books that do not violate our Statement of Faith in order to protect the innocence of children. Our writer’s convictions must align with our Statement of Faith as their guidance in creating and distributing books. Our Statement of Faith is the foundation of Knight’s Publishing House as a company.
But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing. – James 1:25
Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us”? But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. –James 4:5-8
